My Merry Christmas, posted 26 Dec 07

This year’s Christmas is slightly different!

Recorded the “HD” video for broadcast on 31 Dec at TVB on Christmas eve…

And managed to get home for my first “Three’s a company’s” Christmas dinner, really nice feel!

Wishing all friends and fans, a Merry Christmas and Happy very day!

News on Your Hacken’s “Concert Hall”, posted 22 Dec 07

The good news is all the internal reserved tickets are sold out!

Bad news is people are already chasing me for tickets!

But… promo cannot stop, just like the interview I did last week for tomorrow’s airing.
There are also two more interviews with “Scoop”, one on Christmas day and one on New Year Day.

Will be doing the Macau’s show on the 20th.

I’ll see you in a little bit at the “Jade Solid Gold Quarterly Award”.

TVB Music Video, posted 16 Dec 07

I’ll be recording for my TVB Music Video on 19 December.

In the past, I’ve recorded three different music video with TVB. There were many “Super Stars” everytime. The first time was for “Yit Long Mai Ching” (Romantic Waves) so many years ago with Shriley, Vivian, Siew Wai (wife of Su Chi Wai) and Lam Weng Han. The second time was in 1993 for “Ong Yin Wui Sau” (Sudden Reflection) with Siew Mei being the director and special guests Anita Yuen, Cally, Vivian, Kah Sing, Dan…. The third time was in 2002 called “Fat Mong Oi de Yi Yan” (Legal Entangle) with Andy, Cecilia Cheong, Emme, Flora Chan, Gigi, Kok Ho Ying…. The guests are ‘keng’ (more powerful) than the main actor. Haha!

This time around, the format has changed. Eason will appear on the 19th, we’ll sing together and I’ll also sing “Fu Si San Ha” (Below Mount Fu Si)! Then Sammi and I will start with Part 1, we’ll chat and sing. It’s been a while since we last work together. Really looking forward for it! At the end, there’ll be “Chee Wan Fan Gok” (Be My Guest) where I’ll interview Mr. Chan! Wow… can’t wait!

I think there’s ticket for the Fan Club on the 19th. Dear all fans, we’ll meet then!

Last Week, posted 12 Dec 07

I’ve really completed a lot last week, including the Adidas’ event and recorded the MV for “Goodbye Concert Hall” and “Tan Sik Mun” (Door of frustration).

Of course, there was also the “Hopes come True” event on Sunday, very meaningful, can help a lot of children who are sick.

Also…the concert ticket receives very good responds. All tickets opened for sale on the 28th has all been sold like immediately. Act fast before it’s too late!

Hiew! So close! Posted 9 Dec 07

I went for a show at the, but on my way there, my car broke down in the middle of the highway, so ‘pai sei’, thank god the mechanics are real efficient. They arrived to the scene within 10 minutes, and after another 10 minutes, my car has been towed off the highway and they have helped us to get a taxi. We managed to get to Sha Tin’s before 11:30 a.m. Almost ‘Hak sei’! (The organizer is the one who was ‘hak sei’)

Birthday – Present, posted 7 Dec 07

Birthday, was supposed to be happy.

Brought Ryan for his regular check up. He’s very healthy, increased 7 cm in length and 10 lbs 10 oz in weight, not bad. Then we went for dinner. After returning home, there was still birthday cake…

But when I opened the newspaper this morning, I had the biggest shock of my life. A blog that was not suppose to be seen appeared on C1! Seriously, not many people know about this blog, definitely not more than 20 and they are all my best friends and relatives, and we have not shared it with others. Therefore, I really would like to know who revealed it.

Of course, we are also responsible about it. If we really want to keep “100%” private, then we should not put it on a blog at all. So, this serves as a good lesson!

In fact, I do not blame the newspaper, it’s just that I’m a bit… worry, they are really all rounded and are everywhere!

Ticket ordering with credit card, posted 4 Dec 07

I can’t wait to announce this great news. The response for the first day of ticket reservation with credit card is overwhelming, excellent! It nearly doubled the first day selling of “Tak Sam Ying Shao” concert two years ago. Therefore, to those who want to buy, act fast! Of course, also need to thank all the friends who’ve reserved the tickets, I’ll give my best during the concert.

To those who have tried to call for hours, yet failed, so sorry. Hope you’ll not give up and keep calling. Thanks for your support!

Let’s talk about the Fan Club Party on December 2, I was very happy to meet my fans who have supported me for years, so have even got married and have kids; some brought along their boyfriends and also many fans from oversea. Also, welcome the new members and hope you’ll bring your friends, relatives and family members along next time.

I’ve received many, many, many gifts for me, her and Ryan. I was thinking for taking each and every picture of the gifts and put into this blog, but there are really too much to display. It might take hours just to take the pictures and I really don’t have much time. Hence, I can only say thank you once again!

After the Fan Club Party, I went for the road show’s recording. Is a long time buddy and K is a new friend, as for … he was only a kid when I know him! I worked with his dad at Polygram who is the top producer in the company while I was just a new artist. I have never thought that after so many years, I would have the chance to work with his son!

Finally… about the magazine… ai!

Why have to be like that? We are all within the same group, why make it hard for people? We are fine. Not weird illness, only weird book!

Promo, Promo and more Promo

It’s been real busy for the past few weeks. On one end, have to run around doing the promo for the new album, on the other end, have to prepare for the upcoming concert, and of course, plus the ‘little’ one at home! Was at RTHK’s live program on Thursday, then Top 10 Chinese Songs p/c, and yesterday was at CR, recorded some programs with Vani and Maggie, CR is the official station for my concert this time around, and all the roadshows, plus the different TVB’s shows and shooting for the MVs. There is also the TVB Music Special that has been planned for two year, seems that we can finally start shooting it this time… ! I have also invited some of those whom I seldom, seldom work with and haven’t been working with for a long, long time, to be my special guests, really looking forward for it!

Of course, I’m also looking forward to the fan club’s gathering tomorrow lah!

I’ll be going to China for earn some $$ in a while, thus will not be able to go to the p/c at New City, so sorry, maybe next time!

'Your Hacken Concert Hall' Concert 8-14 Feb 2008

On Monday night, we’ve prepared a lot, a lot, and a lot of roses, nice outfits, musical instruments to be brought to CK’s studio in Chai Wan to shoot the poster for ‘Your Hacken Concert Hall’ Concert.

Behind me was part of the musicians for the concert. Only to get 6 of us together was already an impossible mission as they were always travelling to different places for concerts. From mid of last month till now, Monday was the only day that we are all available. At the end, it took five hours for the session to be completed. Of course, the attached is only for reference purposes, the original selected one will definitely be so much better.

My new album's launching tomorrow, will have a phone in interview with ‘sis sook mui’ around 11 a.m. My new song ‘Goodbye Concert Hall’ has been sent out to different stations. Will have to sing ‘live’ on the 24th. Very worry ya!

Ryan is already one month old. We had a simple get together with the family members to celebrate his ‘full moon’, of course got ‘hong gai dan’ lah! Wish for Ryan to be happy and healthy everyday!

Recording Completed! posted 14 Nov 2007

Though there are only three new songs in the new songs + goodies album, yet it has taken so so so so so many days to complete! After a hard battle yesterday, finally, it’s all done!

The last song is called ‘Goodbye Concert Hall’ by Edmond Tsang, lyrics by Riley Lam. It’s a pure piano+vocal’s production – A big challenge for both the pianist and the singer. I was hoping to sing it ‘live’ in my concert early next year. It’ll definitely be very nice!

About the launch date? Should be end of November! Commercial space has been booked, shouldn’t have much changes ‘kua’!

Have to do a photo shooting next week for my concert’s poster. On the 24th, have to go to ‘North Area’ for a show, then get back to TVB right away for another show, also the CASH awardnight, Mr. Tam is receiving ‘Life Achievement Award’, definitely have to go and support ‘lah’! Wah, very busy a!

There is also a fan club’s activity on December 2nd, it’s a big day for me to receive lots of gifts, haha! Hope to see a lot of you guys there!

Recording@Alex's Studio, posted 9 Nov 2007

Yesterday’s recording didn’t go very well, started from 1100 till 1800, still wasn’t able to complete it with good take(s)!

The song is fast, yet not too hard to sing, but because we have to record many, many tracks, some with ‘higher 8 bits’ and some with ‘lower 8 bits’, and some with ‘Diatonic interval’ and double tracks, recorded a lot of different tracks. Furthermore, the lyrics were being changed so many times, until I also feel a bit embarrassed, Riley Lam is sure to find Alex and me 'very troublesome', Sorry, sorry!

Can’t help it coz wanted an excellent result!

Today is better. Tried Edmond’s piano’s song in the afternoon and by evening, was able to retake yesterday’s cover version, Riley Lam came out with new lyrics again, once again, thanks a mil!

After reading your comments, I realized that I also have a lot of fans in Manchester. In fact, I was there last year for a photo shooting session, hehe! An unforgettable event! But besides being in Old Trafford, I didn’t have much time for even a quick look around, how’s Manchester like actually? Does everyone love watching soccer? Do you guys get to meet Rooney often, C7?

TV Addict

I've always been a TV addict since young. Frankly, during those days, who aren't?

From 'A House is not a Home', 'kwong chiu', 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly', 'Legend of the Book and the Sword', 'Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre', 'Police Cadet', 'Justice Of Life' etc…I have watched them all, from the beginning until the end, while having my dinner.

Now, after growing up, not much free time to spare for TV viewing, but I still watch a lot of TV programs. For example 'Heart of Greed', I have watched over half of it. While watching it, I can’t help but to think, how would it feels if I were to take up one of the role? Kinda like to try out “Tack Tack Dei's” role!

I’m also a real big fan of American soap operas.

From 'Sex in the city', '24', 'CSI', 'Six Feet Under', 'Lost' until the recent 'Heros', I’ve watched them all. Even for those that are not as famous, such as 'O.C', 'Two and a half men', 'L word' were also among those programs that I’ve spent time watching. I've just finished 'Entourage' season 3 last night. Each episode was about 20 minutes. Not too long, watching one to two episodes before sleep is not a bad thing to do! It is not like '24' and 'Prison Break', once you watch, you can’t stop! until you finish everything.

After watching so many different soap operas all these years, the one I like best is still 'Friends'. It's simple, a cast of six and no more. 95% done in the studio, from his home to her home, but it is good enough to make you laugh until tears coming out, over and over again, within every 8 to 10 secs. And it ran for 10 years while each of the cast became rich and richer. If you have not watch it, congratulations, faster go and buy a set, you will sure to be laughing non-stop!

So, there are HK dramas, American soap operas and soccer games. Now you know why i don't go out!

My Paternity Leave @ Home, posted 2 Nov 2007

I have started taking my paternity leave after completed TVB’s “Yan Oi Tong” event on the 20th of last month. However, I don’t get to enjoy all 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after ‘labor’. I will be back to work again next week. (In fact, i’ll “most probably” be working tomorrow night! :) I think I can only watch half of the game of Manchester United vs. Arsenal)

There are still two more songs left to be recorded for my ‘New Songs + Goodies’ album. Still awaiting for the lyrics, should be able to record them end of next week! There are three new songs; one by Eric Kwok, one by Edmond Tsang and another one is the cover version. Hoping to release it end of November.

We brought Ryan for a check-up today and the doctor said Ryan is fine and has put on 10 oz, meaning we are doing a good job! Haha!

I'm back

My computer was having some problems last few days, therefore, I was unable to update the blog, and could not delete comment as well, giving me a whole lot of headache. After fixing the problems this morning, somehow again, got into other technical problems, either I don't delete anything, or i was forced to delete all, finally... this is the outcome of it.

Please do not feel sorry about it because I have already read every single comment, every blessing, every word, and will keep them well in my heart. Of course, if you don't mind the trouble and would like to leave your comment again, you are always welcome to do so.

Also, I've got another idea. When you are leaving your comment, can you also leave your location? For example: Siew Ming@Bak Kok, Irene@Toronto, etc, so that I'll be able to know where you are from, ok?

Taking care of a kid is really a busy task, busier than making drama, but sometimes I also don't know why I'm so busy. Overall, it's all the 'sap sap sui sui', 'hang lei hang hui' thing, haha!

Home Sweet Home, posted 28 Oct 2007

Home Sweet Home
Three of us in the family watching Manchester United

Finally, we are home!

After staying in the hospital for approx. 6 days and we are finally allowed to come home. Thanks to Dr. Leung, Dr. Hiew and Dr. Pang, and of course those nurses, sisters aunties and security 'kor kor', helping us through our 'first time' safely. Thank you so much!

Thank you all the friends from the media for understanding and giving us 'some' privacy. Though I knew that there was a particular magazine that used a 'lifter' to got to my house for pictures, but.... Anyway, we were not home yet, so kinda lucky in a way for us, as they've missed us! But really hope that this won't happen again. Thank you very much!

I would like to tell all my friends who care about us that Ryan is a good boy and Emily is fine, I too, did not suffer from any post-maternity disorder, haha!

A little bit overloaded is for sure, but kinda happy to be overloaded in a way!

When Peanut and Butter saw us, they were so happy!

To CK’s son (Ka Hin): Long time no c, how's yr golf? Say hello 2 yr father la.

Special Cigar, posted on 25 Oct 2007

Becoming a father is truly an amazing thing!

Seeing Ryan getting bigger and bigger everyday (should say every second) gave me a very special feeling that was hard to describe. Ryan looks different everyday. And I just couldn't stop taking down every cute expression of his, thanks to the help from my new camera!

A lot of friends visited us and brought gifts for Ryan. But of course not like what the magazine stated. Talking about the magazine, today, there was another magazine that reported on the entire process of our story, so detail, just like they were staying at our house, haha!

Actually we've also prepared some gifts to repay our friends. We've already ordered chocolates and bubble gum cigars from the States. But didn't expect Ryan to be born so early, so we can only change our own date (la)!

His Name is Ryan

I'm a father (liao)!

On the morning of 22nd, Ryan was born, earlier than expected, weighing 6.5 pounds, both mother and son are fine.

Originally, I was thinking of announcing the news in another 2 to 3 more days, after both of them are more stable. But the Hong Kong's paparazzi groups are real genius. When they failed in following us, they changed their target and got to my parents. Thus, today, in front of the hospital, it was really 'happening'!

Nevermind lah (not like I can mind), afterall, it's a happy event. Ryan is very well-behaved and cute. Thank you all for the cares and blessings, especially Alan who helped in replying to the media. Really a great help!

Wah, so many people congratulate me (us), thank you so much!

"San Si Hang"

I'm not a person who like to simply waste money, or to be more realistic, I've already surpasses the age of wasting money! But still couldn't resist and keep updating my electrical properties!

Handphones, PDAs are just common, computers since 20 years ago until now, from PC to Mac, I could not remember how many units I've changed, and also the walkmen, CD players, VCD players, DVD players, and later MP3 players, iPod etc, not forgetting the Hi-Fi, Cameras, video cams…. My heart started to ache just thinking of them, but then again, just couldn't stop myself!

The new member is a Cannon EOS40D, so much fun! And the photos taken are really at good quality, or maybe I'll buy a far lens to take pictures of the paparazzi! Wah! Men can really give a lot of excuses!

I should be doing the last part tomorrow night, had finished the cover two days ago. I think the reporters would have prepared an entire list of weird questions to ask, I better think of some good ways to answer!

Lastly, I have to tell all my friends here, you don't have to congratulate me so soon!

"Lun Mo Gong, Jok Sei Chong Pat Ji Bin Goh Go"

Did a very "happy" show yesterday night!

"Chinese Kung Fu International Tournament" was held yesterday night at Shen Zhen'
s "Bao An" Stadium and a lot of "Mo Gong Goh Kiong ge Mo Lam Goh Sao" (very talented martial arts experts) also attended. I was lucky to be selected as one of the performing artists. I felt very proud and was very happy that I was able to meet with Mr. Kam Yong!

I was already a fan of Kam Yong when I was in school (which boy is not?). I have read all of his book, (The Legend of the Condor Heroes, The Return of the Condor Heroes, Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre, The Book and the Sword), not only once, but so many times, and I was hoping that I'll be able to meet with the real hero. That's why when I knew that I would be able to be on the sama stage as him, I was so happy for the past few days.

I also brought the old novel that my dad passed on to me, hoping that I can get his signature on it. Right before I had to go on stage, this excitement moment arrived...

He's very friendly and gentle, shaking my hands warmly and agree to take photos with me and leave me his autograph, he also wrote...

Mr. Hacken Lee...
Old book, sweet memories; So Old yet so New
...Kam Yong at Shen Zhen

Really "Hoi Sam Sei"! Almost forgot what I was to sing!

36 Hours in San Francisco

0700, finally reached home!

This trip to San Francisco, the entire trip lasted just nice, 36 hours. The advantage is do not need to adjust to the time difference, taxied from HK on the 5th arriving at San Fran on their time 1400 of 5th, following with a press conference in the afternoon…

After the press conference, we visited the senior citizen's cottage. They are all very energetic and happy while welcoming me into their home. I sang “Kao Foon Yu Mong” without any music background. I believe this is the only song from my albums that they are familiar with!

After that, I went to a nearby mall to had a quick shop, bought some AF's T-shirts, approximately an hour later, I've returned to the hotel and ordered room service. I'll like to take this opportunity to apologize to the organizer because we had to miss the welcome dinner as everyone of us were way to exhausted.

In fact, this charity concert concentrated on fundraising and did not have a huge budget. Couldn't bring any dancer, soundman, even my band only had 7 members, my assistant, Terry has to do all the works, including contact, wardrobe, FM and was also needed to assist me in changing, was a real heavy job. As so, after the show began, there were no time for photo taking. As for the venue, there was also much room for improvement, we requested for 24 monitors, but were only given 13. As a result, everyone on stage was having difficult time hearing. And the house’s sound systems can also be better. My friend in San Francisco “it's not too clear”. Nevertheless, this didn't affect the ambience of the night. The fans in San Francisco were really warm! I was all ready for a 2nd encore, but some of the senior audience has started to leave, worrying that it would get to late! Maybe next time, we'll sing again!

The show began at 1930, and ended at 2200. It was the first time that I had to take my shower and leave immediately after a show, reached the airport lounge at 2330, sat down for a cup of instand noodles, 0120 taxied back to Hong Kong, just nice, a 36 hours trip.

Finally, have to thanks the workers at the home, thanks for your kindness, too bad that I can't stay longer!

Next Year's Concert

Manchester United won the night before last night. I was very happy. Therefore, i wore a black color Rooney's T-shirt to work yesterday! (That's how football's fans are, "Keng Dei Neng"!)

I've been meeting a few talented musicians lately, preparing for the concert in early next year, hoping that I am able to find suitable talents to play the songs, bringing more excitement to everyone. This concert may be the one closest to my ideal concert. The entire show will be focusing on music. It's the best if can get a band that has a lot of people, the talented Gurus for the selective instruments, a nice and clean stage, together with the special effects that can accompany the songs well (not the "Mo Mo Wai Wai" type), and sharing moments with audiences, with reputable invited guests etc. Easy to say, but I'll put in all my effort to accomplish the mission.

Remember, 2nd Day of CNY is the 1st show, Do come and support!

Hacken's 2nd Post - 1 Oct 2007 (Mon)

The Presidents Cup

First of all, I'll like to thank you all for leaving your comments! Looks like I really have to write more!

I was watching Presidents Cup these few days. It is a golf tournament that happened once every two years, American Team vs. International Team. Actually, to watch live golt tournament is really a difficult "entertainment". First of all, it's normally broadcast at night or even midnight, and will continue for 4 days in a row, few hours a day, to finish watching the entire game was really not an easy job!

As so, I'll normally record the entire game and thereafter, taking my own sweet time watching it. And I can skip the ads too, and also skip those boring segments, plus some fast forwards, to finish viewing it! (Actually i was only able to watch until Day 3, still haven't watch Day 4's segment yet, already forgot who is who!)

Opening Blog on Mid Autumn Festival Day

This is the first time i don't have to work on Mid-Autumn Festival. So, i've invited a group of friends to come to my house for a party. I was thinking of BBQ at first, but the weather wasn't stable, as so, we changed it to "PotLuck" where everybody brought a dish. "Ah Je" (Liza Wang) brought tasty grilled chicken, the BBQ Meat that Benny brought is better, Gigi brought "Tong Soi" (dessert), and the timing was just right. The one who offered the least, Poon Kar Tack, actually brought tea leaves!

It's been a while since i've had to work on music shows for a continuous 3 days. This week, i've continuously conducted for Jade Solid Gold, "Wai Yin" and "Kei Pun Fat" shows. No need to work today, that's why i was at home watching soccer, hoping that Manchester United would win, celebrating the opening of my new blog!

So remember, come and share more...
Come and See! Come and Talk!

Hacken's Own Blog

I set up this blog before i was informed that Hacken has got his own blog. As so, this has been set aside for awhile, until a friend who doesn't know how to read chinese commented that she wasn't able to read from Hacken's blog, as so, i thought, why not include the content of his blog here, so everyone, even those who doesn't know chinese are able to get the most updated info from him.

Hacken has his own blog!

Finally, Hacken has set up his own blog. Cool! Now fans are able to get more direct update from him personally. And what is even better is: his blog is made on a Mac. Way to go, Hacken!
